| I am a sportsman and love playing football everyday. One day, a simple injury while playing ruined my life. I fell on the field and was unable to get up. My friends helped me up and took me to a hospital where I was told there was blood collected inside my knee. The blood was removed and I started physiotherapy a few weeks later. I regained my flexibility in a months time, but one problem persisted – everytime I tried to jog or run or change direction while walking, my knee suddenly used to buckle ad I would feel as though I would lose balance and fall down. |
| A friend of mine had undergone a successful knee surgery from Dr Ameet Pispati and hence I decided to consult him. Doctor Pispati examined me and explained to me that I had torn my main knee ligament called the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). He confirmed this diagnosis on an MRI scan and explained to me that I would need a keyhole surgery (arthroscopy) to fix this problem. |
I underwent Arthroscopic surgery by Dr Ameet Pispati. During surgery, my knee cartilages (menisci) were also found torn and these were repaired. A new ACL was put into my knee (created from my body’s own tissue). I walked the very next day after surgery and had intensive physiotherapy thereafter, which is the key to success. All through my postoperative recovery period, Dr Pispati was like a solid pillar to me, guiding and encouraging me and always full of kindness and compassion. |
Now, 9 months after surgery, I have been able to return to playing football and I do not have any problems whatsoever. |
