I suffered for several years with bad arthritis in my knee. The entire day would be spent moving slowly with a walking stick and consuming pain-killers. Being a doctor, it was important to have good mobility so that I could attend to my patients quickly. Osteoarthritis of the knee made my life miserable. I tried all possible allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic medicines, but they did not help.  I had a severely bent, deformed and stiff knee with hardly any movement in it. My patients were able to notice my knee problems and this had an adverse effect on my confidence. I finally gave up and decided to undergo a Total Knee Replacement surgery.

As a doctor I had ready access to many Orthopaedic surgeons. However, I wanted to undergo surgery by a surgeon who was well trained, experienced, has handled complex knee cases, who sees his patients daily, is open-minded to answering questions, and is communicative. I met atleast 10 Orthopaedic surgeons and finally decided on Dr Ameet Pispati as he fulfilled the above criteria – I developed a rapport and a feeling of comfort when he examined and spoke to me. Dr Ameet Pispati is also invited as Faculty to teach on National and International Knee and Hip surgery conferences and meetings, meaning that his peers and colleagues view him with respect and consider him to be one of the best.

Postoperatively, Dr Pispati saw me daily, while his team saw me several times a day. The surgery worked like a miracle for me. All the pain vanished, I regained flexibility rapidly, and my leg alignment was fully corrected. Today I am able to walk few kilometres daily, can attend to my work comfortably and I curse myself for not having undergone the surgery earlier. Science has proven that those who undergo surgery in good time get the best result; however, even those who undergo surgery late will get improvement.

After my surgical success, I referred few patients to Dr Pispati for Knee and Hip Replacement and they too obtained a spectacular result.
